ENJOY THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS! TRADITION AND NATURE TAKE A STAND ON GOOD TASTE + GOOD HEALTHKosher salt has long been a favorite among good cooks. Prized for its light flaky texture and delicate saltiness Kosher sea salt is a standard in almost every kitchen, but the Kosher salt of the past was a highly refined, bleached product—even stripped of its healthy minerals—it was essentially a dead food. |

International Home and Housewares Show, Chicago 2011 |

Attending the International Home and Housewares Show in Chicago this past week was exciting! There were lots of Celebrity Chefs in town for the event and they were cooking up some delicious dishes! Not one to let a good opportunity go to waste, I met Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and gave him a Gourmet Pacific Sampler, complimenting his specialty: the cuisine of the Pacific Rim! Very fun to meet, too, was the lady of Southern charm, Paula Deen, she thoroughly entertained us with the story of how she met her husaband as he cooked up a storm behind her. I gave Paula all three gourmet samplers to take home to play with and see which one she liked the best. Meeting Emeril Lagasse, who was performing cooking demos at the show, was a delight. I ran into him at one of the booths sporting his beautiful knives and got to talk with him, meet his lovely wife, Alden, and talk with them about Salts of the 7 Seas. One of his favorites was the the BAJA Gourmet Sampler— with, of course, a lot of BAM! to offer the fans of a little SIZZLE! There was more to see than there was time to see it all and literally almost every country in the world was represented with their home and kitchen specialty items! Beautiful cookware was around every corner and one, lined in ceramic that offered non-stick cooking was getting a lot of attention. We saw colors everywhere—seemed to be that water bottles, On-the-Go coffee tumblers, mixers and even tea pots along with everything else sported a rainbow of color choices...sort of reminded me of our sea salts and how fun they are in so many natural colors, amd flavors, too! |

The Holidays are full of lots of entertaining and Paula Brown, of the Paula Brown Shop, Toledo, OH wanted to help her customers get lots of good ideas to make things easier. She held several in-store Holiday Parties, offering wonderful hors d’oeuvres, hand selected wines, great live jazz and Guest Chefs to share their secrets for some fabulous party ideas and of course, the latest exciting addition to everyone’s kitchens– the wonderful world of Gourmet Sea Salts from Salts of the 7 Seas! “Chef Geoff McKahan, did a wonderful job with the sea salts,” said Paula., noting how these delicious salts can go in almost any direction. “I loved how he used the Porcini Mushroom on grilled, wild Salmon and the Apple-wood Smoked sprinkled over an aged cheddar cheese. They were amazing!”

“It was fun introducing so many people to our new INFUSIONS COLLECTION of all naturally flavored sea salts!”, said Linda. “Just watching their faces as they tried all the new salts was exciting! Mombai Curry and Ginger ZING! got the biggest response– almost everyone who tried them left with some to take home! The Vanilla Bourbon sprinkled on ice cream, chocolate mousse and Crème Bruleé was the biggest surprise for everyone and our fragrant Rosemary Passion, with so many uses, was a close runner-up!”
